Sci-fi Geisha
Stock# 1

Taken 20th May, 2013

First day off in 8 days... what do I do? Make a top and then shoot stock in it.
A HUGE thank you to `taeliac - I used her tutorial to make the top (with a little bit of editing in terms of length :) It is a really simple and easy tutorial - I suggest to everyone to give it a go if you want to make a kimono)

Wow! It's amazing what you can do with a bit of cloth if you have the talent (and a day off). Glad you didn't make dungarees or pyjamas.

... heck no. The material was too pretty. I probably could have made PJ pants, but I loved the material and wanted to show it off :)

This is awesome! You do such a fantastic job with dynamic poses, I can't wait to see the rest of the shoot :)

(Have you read Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff? It's steampunk set in a fantasy Japan, which is very much the sort of vibe I'm getting from this.)

Thanks- there are a few I'm really excited to upload. It felt like a really good shoot and I didn't get stuck in a rut. Sometimes I could take 300 picture and end uploading maybe 5. This felt good and I will be uploading about 15-20 I think.

And no I haven't read that book yet :)

Woah, 5 out of 300? Even 15-20 out of 300 seems like hardly anything... you are dedicated :)

Dude, I need to check out that book now.

Well, let's see... for the Forrest Queen shoot we took about 600 shots. I uploaded 45. So that is... what? 1 every 13 photos.
For the Red shoot we took about 500 and I uploaded 50 - so that is 1 in every 10.
That was a good shoot.

The most annoying is when they turn out blurred. I now try to test the outcome on my computer before I do an entire series. It takes time and is frustrating as hell, but having done at least two shoots where next to none of the shots were in focus, it is the way I have to go.

Niiiiiice. Really love the pose. Black boots/leggings are hard to see against the black background, though, alas.

Hmm, must take time out from leather to work on this one, you look great! Futuristic, dystopian scene, smoke swirling, the Kunoichi and her sword appearing from the smog with a whirl of steel...

Well, that's how my mind sees it, no telling how photoshop will interpret that! :P

Nice! Once I stop leatherworking for a bit I really have to sit down and do something with this, the ideas just jumped off the screen at me. Futuristic Kunoichi, you only see her as she strikes...
