Forgive me, but my major was in Ancient History. Officers, centurions, and some soldiers were allowed to marry. So there were in some cases women that would follow the Legions on march, and help in camps. But the Romans never allowed women to enlist. Let alone, have a female Officer.
Also, from a photographers point of view. This is a decent image in all respects. Just the facts render it pointless. (Wonderful helmet)
I wasn't making a historically accurate photo. I just had the helmet and thought it would make a good stock photo. I tend to think and dream - imagine if a woman actually was a soldier; I wonder how good a fighter she would be.
Just my thought - I love the likes of women who were fighters - anne bonney, mary read, hannah snell... the list does go on but still, history has only documented a few. Imagine if there are more - I would argue there is.
