The symbol I worked with was 'Iodhadh' or the Yew tree which has the meanings of transference, passage and illusion associated with it. The symbol itself is five horizontal line with one vertical line splitting it in the middle, as show in the picture here.
I worked with the idea of my favourite mythical creature - faeries - as they are the queens of illusion, as well as using colours that are found in the yew tree.
Two months of work, completely hand sewn patchwork... and too many hours for me to keep track of. I hope you like it; I am certainly proud of it as it is the first thing I've made completely from scratch without a pattern.
